Eran Katzir, 34, is currently a Ph.D student in the Applied Physics department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In high school he majored in chemistry and computer science. During his IDF service Eran served as an Air traffic control sergeant at the southern Air control unit and commended more then 30 soldiers. Eran did his B.Sc in physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is currently doing his Ph.D as a member of Prof. Paltiels research group where he also did his M.Sc. In his research Eran discovered a unique relationship between nanoparticles that attached via organic molecules to superconductors surface. Surprisingly, this strange bound revealed few unknown physical phenomena that are not yet fully understood. Eran believes that focusing on his research could give us better understanding about the delicate and elusive mechanism of superconductors.
