Liron Stern
Liron Stern, 28, is currently studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for his M.Sc. Degree in Applied Physics. Liron was born and raised in Jerusalem and studied at the Brunschwig Masorti high school in Jerusalem. In high school, he majored in physics and math. After serving in the IDF as an Officer (2000-2004), Liron started his B.Sc. degree in Physics at the Hebrew University (2005-2008). During his B.Sc. degree he worked at AccuBeat Ltd's Physics research team, which designs and develops novel atomic frequency standards. Liron's research focused mainly on designing an innovative miniature Coherent Population Trapping (CPT) clock in a collaborative effort between the company and several research groups in different universities. He gave a talk on his work at an IEEE international conference. Liron is currently a member of Dr. Uriel Levy's research group, focusing his M.Sc. research on "Near Field Phase Mapping", and "Slow and Fast Light in Systems that Combine Structural and Atomic Resonances". Mr. Stern'™s scholarship was donated by Mr. Alex Soyka.
