Rasha is a PhD student at the Department of Psychology in the Hebrew University working with Prof. Ran Hassin. Generally, she is interested in how large scale social systems are represented as cognitive constructs and how they come to efficiently affect human perceptions and behaviors. Additionally, she is interested in the interaction between social contexts and basic cognitive functions.
Her research examines ideologies as cognitive constructs and tests how these constructs can affect our attitudes and behavior. In one line of studies, we examine how the cognitive representations of ideologies, as well as, their motivational underpinnings determine the manner in which they affect attitudes and behavior. In another line of research, we examine how ideologies affect basic cognitive processes and executive functions. She believes this research can advance our understanding of the delicate interaction between the cognitive system and social contexts.
