Emotional communication is critical for successful social interactions. In the Laboratory for Affective Neuropsychology we focus on how people express and perceive emotion in various affective channels. Our research aims to understand the complex mechanisms of emotion perception in healthy individuals as well as the breakdown of emotion perception in neuropsychological populations (e.g., Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Visual agnosia etc). We use a wide range of methods including behavioral, eye-tracking, facial EMG, brain electrophysiology, high speed photography and more.
