Yoel Sebbag
Yoel Sebbag, 30, is currently studying towards a Ph.D. in the Applied Physics department of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, under the supervision of Prof. Uriel Levy.
Yoel Sebbag was born in France and moved to Israel after he graduated from High-School in 2005. In 2009 he graduated his B.Sc. in electrooptic engineering studies in the Jerusalem College of Technology. He then studied towards an M.Sc. in Applied Physics at the Hebrew University, doing his research in the NanoOpto group supervised by Prof. Uriel Levy. Following his M.Sc stidies, he served in the IDF as algorithmic developer. In 2015, Yoel started his Ph.D. studies at the Applied Physics department of the Hebrew University, under the supervision of Prof. Uriel Levy.
In his research Yoel focuses on light-vapor interactions in the mid-infrared spectrum of the light, attempting to develop of integrated optically pumped gas laser. Such laser could pave the way to a new kind of integrated gas laser with potential application in high power integrated laser for nonlinear interactions. This laser is expected to pave the way towards the development of a new technology for high precision auto-calibrated on-chip spectrometers in the liquids and gases spectral fingerprint region.
