Principal Investigator - Igor Schapiro

Curriculum Vitae

Welcome to my personal page! I'm the Principal Investigator of the research group in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. My group is part of the Institute of Chemistry at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is also a member of the Fritz Haber Center for Molecular Dynamics Research.

I have received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/Molecular Materials at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. Subsequently I qualified for a fast-track program that allowed to obtain a PhD degree directly. For this purpose I have done two preparatory courses with Prof. Wiebren Veeman (University of Duisburg-Essen) and Prof. Martin Engelhard (Max Planck Institue of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund, Germany). I have completed my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Volker Buß.

In 2009 I joined the group of Prof. Massimo Olivucci at the Center for Photochemical Sciences of the Bowling Green State University in Ohio, USA. I did my second PostDoc with Prof. Frank Neese at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Before coming to Jerusalem, I worked with Prof. Stefan Haacke at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials in Strasbourg, France.
