Jonathan Matthews
Since 2015, he is a PhD candidate in the History Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His MA thesis dealt with questions of internationalism and colonialism in the letters of Albert Einstein. He has been working as a research assistant for Dr. Ofer Ashkenazi.

The Irish Myth: the Memory of Ireland within the British Empire
Research Interest
The multiplicity of identities and memories in the British imperial sphere, including minorities and the smaller British nations (Welsh, Scottish, Irish, British Jews etc.) in the colonial project, as well as the involvement of the colonised peoples (such as Indians, Arabs, Palestine Jews etc.) in the imperial bureaucracy and military.
