Our overall goal is to advance knowledge and propose novel therapeutic approaches focused on the function of the ovary, the uterus and the placenta, via a multidisciplinary approach which combines basic research and clinical methods.
Currently, there are 3 major research topics in my laboratory:
1) the association between animal welfare and the reproductive system, including the development of non-surgical sterilization methods;
2) improving reproductive health and fertility in dairy cows;
3) investigating human prenatal placenta conditions such as fetal growth restriction and preeclampsia, via relevant animal models, as well as by in-vitro and ex-vivo approaches.
