My research expertise is in vascular biology, in general, and the neurovascular unit, in particular. Our research in the neurovascular unit includes vascular manipulations that enhance neurogenesis in the adult hippocampus and also affect neuronal plasticity. Other studies concerns major neonatal brain injuries. Our brain and retina studies already culminated in a number of papers in PNAS, J Neuroscience, JCI and Development. Also, our current ERC grant is fully concerned with the neurovascular unit.
