Short Bio:

Principle Investigators: Prof Avihu Klar and Prof Aharon Lev-Tov.

Research:

Local spinal networks, activated and refined by supra-spinal centers, generate the patterned limb’s movement. Joint position, muscle’s tension degree and other somatosensory information are supplied by sensory afferents and being integrated into the spinal circuitry. In addition, different projections of sensory and intra-spinal inputs are relayed to the brain via ascending tracts, and have a substantial role in motion's precision and accurate timing. In the lab, we use advanced molecular tools in order to unravel the connectivity and function of the different neuronal components of the spinal network.
