Our sensation, perception and behavior arise from the activity of millions of interconnected neurons in the brain.  We are interested in how this network of neurons processes information and converts it into an appropriate behavior.  To address this question, we use the zebrafish as a model system. Zebrafish larvae display a wide range complex behaviors, these could be imaged in conjunction with neural activity. Larval skin transparency allows 2-photon whole-brain imaging of neural activity at the single cell resolution in the intact and behaving animal. Along with these experiments, we use computational, statistical, and mathematical tools to uncover the neural mechanism that lies at the heart of behavior
