The final day of the Academia closed with a session lead by Aleida Assmann (Konstanz University), presenting a movie on women soccer in Iran and wrapping up our findings so far. In the evening there will be a farewell event and it will be time to say good bye.
After opening day first week's sessions were led by Ralf Poscher (Freiburg University), Ulrike Davy (Bielefeld University) and Lynn Hunt (University of California, Los Angeles). The fellows (Guy Carmi, Johannes Eichenhofer, Caterina Drigo, Michael Kolocek, Lauren Ware, Levi Cooper, Sini Kangas, Funlola Olojede and Ron Roth) contributed from there own field of research. Video Artist Anna Konic took part in the sessions and presented her work, "In the same city, under the same sky - interviews with immigrants."
Opening day started with welcome addresses by Martin Egelhaaf (Vice-Rector of Bielefeld University), Marc Schalenberg (ZiF), Michal Linial (IIAS) and Ulrike Davy (Bielefeld University). The first session of phase 2 was led by Gertrude Lübbe-Wolff (Bielefeld University; Justice of the German Federal Constitutional Court, 2002-2014). The fellows (Emily Kidd White, Sima Kramer, Vanessa Hellmann and Akemi Kamimura) contributed from there fields of research.
Throughout the two weeks of the Academia, the fellows embarked on several extracurricular trips; a sightseeing tour of Jerusalem, a tour of the Supreme Court of Israel, a tour of the Israel Museum, a tour of the Edmond J. Safra Campus, Givat Ram, a one day excursion to Masada, visit to Yad Vashem and a visit to President's residence.
During the second week of the Academia, the sessions were lead by Prof. Christine Hayes and Prof. Moshe Halbertal, Prof. Aharon Barak, Prof. Michael Rosen and Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer. In addition, talks were held by Mr. David Saranga, Adv. Banna Shugri Badarne, IAHD Fellow Akemi Kamimura, Prof. Sari Nusseibe, Prof. Meir Brezis, Admiral Ami Ayalon and Prof. Menahem Ben-Sasson.
