The Jerusalem Brain Community invites you to our upcoming Brain & Beer event on January, 2018 in Nocturno. The evening consists of short lectures by students on topics related to neuroscience. This gives students and faculty from all fields of brain research the opportunity to meet in a relaxed atmosphere over a beer, discuss their research and forge new collaborations.

Adar Adamsky/ "The rising star of memory: can astrocytes enhance memory formation and recall?"
Adar is a PhD student at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ELSC) in the Hebrew University, under the supervision of Dr. Inbal Goshen. Her research focuses on astrocytes involvement in recent and remote memory and the neural network organization involved in the transition from recent to remote memory.
Veronica Dudarev/ "Does episodic memory affect selection for consciousness?"
Veronica received her M.A. in psychology from the Moscow State University, and after year long internship at Ran Hassin's lab, she joined him as a Ph.D. student. Veronica has been involved in a number of research projects on face perception (with Hillel Aviezer) and unintentional activation of executive functions in joint actions. Her main interest is how non-conscious processes shape conscious experiences. Specifically, she tries to understand how memory, both conscious and unconscious, affects conscious perception.
Ronen Segal, CTO of Brainsway and Chairman of the BSMT Consortium/ “From the Startup Nation to Brain Nation”
Stimulation has become a powerful tool to treat Neuropsychiatric disorders. Ronen will present the company's unique non-invasive Deep TMS technology, which turned it into a world leader in the field. He will discuss the path for brining it from a scientific concept to making it a widely accepted medical treatment with FDA and CE approvals. He will also talk about the clinical and technological pipeline, which Brainsway is working on, and will give a brief overview of the breakthrough achievements done by the national Brain consortium he is heading. Ronen will share his ideas on how to take the Israeli potential of unique innovative developments in Hi-tech and become a leader in the Brain industry worldwide.

אדר היא דוקטורנטית במרכז אדמונד ולילי ספרא למדעי המוח (ELSC) באוניברסיטה העברית, תחת ההנחיה של דוקטור ענבל גושן. היא חוקרת את המעורבות של אסטרוציטים בזיכרון קרוב ורחוק וכן את השינויים המוחיים המעורבים במעבר מזיכרון קרוב לזיכרון רחוק.
ורוניקה דודקרב/"האם זכרון אפיזודי משפיע על העדפה למודעות?"
ורוניקה בעלת תואר שני בפסיכולוגיה מאוניברסיטה הממלכתית במוסקבה וכיום תלמידת דוקטורט במעבדה של פרופ' רן חסין באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. ורוניקה חוקרת תהליכים ניהוליים לא מודעים באינטראקציות בין-אישיות. בדוקטורט שלה ורוניקה מתמקדת באופן בו תהליכים לא מודעים משפיעים על חווית המודעת, והאם לזיכרון אפיזודי יש תפקיד בעניין הזה.
