The JBC organized this one day symposium which was held at the Hebrew University on October 14, 2015. Discussed was the evolution of the brain, from prehistoric man, until today, and its effects on the development of cognition and language.

Speakers included:

  • Prof. Naama Goren, Department of Prehistory, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
  • Prof. Prof. Yosef Grodzinsky, ELSC and Language, Logic and Cognition Center, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
  • Prof. Naftali Tishby, The Benin School of Computer Science and Engineering and The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences,     Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 
  • Prof. Liran Carmel, Department of Genetics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
  • Prof. Yoel Rak, Department of Anatomy and Anthropology, Tel Aviv University.
